Les produits multimédia sont de plus en plus présents dans notre quotidien et ils ont modifié nos habitudes de vie dans l’habitat. Jugés parfois peu esthétiques, ils ont du mal à s’intégrer dans une pièce de vie. Le design travaille à rendre ses équipements plus « home déco » et le mobilier se développe en proposant des solutions de rangements pour ces produits. La table basse @home est innovante par son architecture fonctionnelle améliorant l’intégration et l’utilisation de nos produits électroniques (téléphone, ordinateur portable, clef usb, disque dur externe, télécommandes, appareil photo, etc.). Le design de ce meuble a été influencé par l’univers hi-tech, une demarche bien connue dans le design intérieur automobile, qui marie confort et haute technologie.

Le caisson a pour principale fonction de supporter un ordinateur portable ainsi que de permettre le rangement d’un maximum de périphériques dans ses coffres latéraux. Son principe de doubles charnières décalées lui permet d’être autoportant et de rehausser sa position pendant l’usage. Il devient alors très facile de sortir son ordinateur pour le consulter et le ranger sans encombrer le plateau de la table.

Multi-media products are increasingly present in our daily life, and have therefore changed our habits at home. As they are at times seen as unaesthetic, it can appear to be difficult to integrate them in a living area. The purpose of design is to make these equipments more “home deco” and furniture design is offering solutions to integrate these high tech products. The @home coffee table is innovative as its functional design improves the integration and use of our electronic products. (phone, laptop, memory stick, external hard drive, remote controls, cameras…). The design of this piece of furniture has been influenced by the high tech universe, a process which has already been acknowledged in the inside design of cars, blending comfort and technology.
The main use of the chest is to bear the weight of a laptop, but also to fit the largest number of peripherals into its lateral drawers. The staggered double hinges enable it to be self-supporting and to raise its position when in use. It then becomes extremely easy to get the computer out when needed, without ever cluttering the table top.
